World Smile Day  is the First Friday of October each year and was created by Harvey Ball a commercial artist from Worcester, Massachusetts who created the smiley face in 1963. What you need to do your One Minute Smilence

* A quiet place where you can sit and get into a relaxed sate

Life is what you make it, and in the backdrop of challenges you many be going through, keep hope alive, make time to focus on the positive and keep taking time aside to smile and share a smile with someone else. You will feel better  for it.

How to do the One Minute Smilence for #WorldSmileDay

Take time out and start your day with the One Minute Smilence and feel good.

What you need to do your One Minute Smilence

* A quiet place where you can sit
* A note pad or plain paper, pen and coloured pencils
* Images of people or experiences that make you smile eg holiday snaps

How to do your One Minute Smilence

1.Find a quiet place to sit and take time to slowly breathe in and out 7 times

2.Get your note pad or a plain sheet of paper and write down or draw images of people, and experiences that make you smile.

3.Set your timer for a minute

4.Now just spend a minute focussing on the things that make you smile and keep smiling for the whole minute.

5.After the minute has gone – just shout excitedly “ WooHoo BoomBoom”

Remember to take time out on a regular basis to do your One Minute Smilence

What is the One Minute Smilence?

The One Minute Smilence was created by me  Genny Jones AKA Confident Queen. I started doing this everyday as a way of me fuelling my day with positivity and good vibes. I also do this when I feel stressed or overwhelmed as it helps me to refocus and calm. I   encourage you to take at least a minute each day to Stop,  think happy thoughts whilst smiling for a minute.

You can do this anywhere that you can move around.

You will need your phone or clock to time yourself

You may need some images on your phone to recall happy moments

Gravesend’s Fun Palace 2015 Saturday October 3rd
We’ll be at Gravesend Library on offering free health checks and advice, a giant mural for you to help colour in, a How to be Happier workshop with Genny Jones AKA Confident Queen who is in the Independent on Sunday Happy List as one of the 100 Happy People in Uk who go out to make others feel happy. Their is also a chance to learn how to knit and crochet with Gravesend’s famous expert knitters!

Gravesend’s Fun Palace 2015On Sunday 4th October we move across to St Andrew’s Arts Centre on the river front for a day of activities entitled “Escape to Happiness Island”. There’ll be some guided meditation from Gravesend’s local meditation group, a whole range of arts and crafts projects from Happiness Project Kent, and local students helping you turn your recycling into art! We’ll also have local historian Tony Larkin on hand with some artefacts from Gravesend’s past and plenty of tales to tell about the town’s history. We’ll end the day with a bit of a song and dance – no experience necessary, all are welcome : )
