Happy being single on valentine’s day

Finding Inner Peace

Finding Inner Peace

Inner peace is where you have a sense of harmony, emotional well-being and fulfilment in your life despite any challenges you may be going through (money, relationships, loss, etc). You can achieve inner peace by practising acceptance of yourself and the world around you, engaging in things like prayer, mindfulness, and meditation.

Accepting Your self

Acceptance of yourself is crucial to the promotion of inner peace because it enables us to be okay with what is currently happening no matter what the circumstances. One way to practice acceptance of your life is to be grateful for what you have instead of focusing on what you do not have

Give up control over things you can’t change

We cannot control what others think, feel, or do so try to focus on what you can change.

Focus on right now through mindfulness

Mindfulness can help increase inner peace. Mindfulness is being aware of the current moment, the here and now, instead of thinking about the future or the past. Thinking of the past may lead to depressed mood or regrets, and thinking about the future can increase anxiety and worry. Being completely present in the current moment can increase your feelings of contentment.

prayer

Most people in times of crisis tend to pray sometime in panic or utter desperation. Prayer for inner peace for me helps to calm my mind, gives me  clarity, and inner peace. At times, when I feel so stressed and not know what to do I just say “ Oh God help me and give me the strength and wisdom to go through this”

Meditation

Meditation is the art of finding peace and happiness within by using simple methods of calming and stabilising our minds. Modern life can be stressful and busy. Most of the time we are carried along by the force of emotions, habits and conditioning and end up feeling tired and stressed by everyday life. Practicing meditation can change this. Meditation can help bring about a natural sense of peace and well-being that can extend to every aspect of our lives. People who meditate regularly tend to sleep better, handle the ups and downs of daily life with more clarity and ease and relate to others with more compassion and warmth.

Put on your Crown of Smiles (Day 20th) 7 Questions to help you solve your problem!

Welcome to the 20th Day of Crown of Smiles – 7 Questions to help you solve your problem

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog and that you are keeping up with the daily tasks! It would be great if you could write any ideas or comments you have.

Remember that each day you have to get into the habit of taking at least 15 minutes to :-

  • Put on your Crown of Smiles
  • Spending  5 minutes for your Smilence Moments each day – which includes writing down all the things that made you smile the day before

Today’s Task – 7 Questions to help you find solution to a problem that’s causing you sleepless nights!

  1. What problem do I want to solve? ( The ISSUE)
  2. What do I want to happen? ( MY GOALS)
  3. How I will feel once this is solved? (FEELINGS/EMOTIONS)
  4. What things can I do to help sort out this problem? (OPTIONS)
  5. What is stopping me from doing these things? (OBSTACLES)
  6. How Can I overcome this obstacle? (SOLUTION)
  7. Which of these solutions is best for me? (JUST DO IT)

Their is a solution to my problem!

We all have problems that we wrestle with at night which cause us sleepless nights and even take our smiles away.  I have learn over the years,  not to focus on things I have no control over, but instead focus on things that I can change or get someone else to help me change.  It is also good to have the mindset  and belief that “Their is a solution to my problem”. You have to not only say it, you have to try and believe it, picture the solution, say it out loud regularly, and take action.

A couple of years ago the way I approached my problems changed when I attended a course by the Life Coaching Academy. So what I have down in the picture below, is to give you an example of a challenge one of my client’s had recently, and some of the areas we covered to help her find the solution to her problem.

Over to you now.

So today, I would like you to spend some time to focus on just one problem you may be going through and use the same model to try and get solution to it.  Remember before your start you have to say ” Their is a solution to my problem” if you don’t like saying the word problem you can replace with “challenge”

Today’s Task –  Create your own fun character

Transforming yourself into a fun character can be a way of releasing stress and for you to take your mind from some of the challenges you may be going through.

In 2009, I created my character Confident Queen, as it was for me a way of saying good bye to the depression, anxiety, stress and low self esteem that I have suffered for 5 years, this affected me so much that at one point I could not look at my self in the mirror.

Confident Queen Character – Is all about having strength and energy to let go of the past challenges, and fuelling my self with inner peace, happiness so that I can not only rebuild my life, but also go out to deliver to others the Gift of Confidence and Happiness.

Confident Queen Costume – Each item I wear has a meaning ( The main items)

fulloutfit

Heart Shaped Glasses – Heart shaped as I radiate love wherever I go and the glasses are big enough to see you smile!

Hat – Represents that I am a Queen and like all Queen’s I wear my hat filled with confidence,  My first hat was with a crown, but now I have a fruit hat, because I love fruits and it is a way of reminding especially children to have their five a day.

Apron – I am a mother of two, I love cooking and baking and showing my children how to make thinks

Boots – I wear the boots mainly when I am out and about in  my garden. It is also useful when their are puddles so I can be child like and jump into it – such fun.

Shopping Bag – Well I do love to shop and I also keep my Gift of Confidence Boxes which has special tools to help you maintain your happiness and confidence levels,

Microphone –  I use it as I love  singing  and making up funny songs

Belly Dancing Belt – I just love the noise it makes when  I am walking around

Red Cape – Red is one of my favourite colours. When I put on my cape, it boosts my confidence and makes me feel I have wings like and eagle, and I can soar over my challenges and empower and equip people to do the same.

Red Trousers –  I love red and the trousers makes it easier for me to move around

Over to you now.

So today, I would like you to spend some time to develop your own character, give your character a name, what costume will they wear and why? what special powers will they have? Have fun with this and do send me pictures and let me know how you get on!

Till tomorrow – try to keep smiling, keep having a positive attitude and keep expecting good things to happen to you.  May the Smile be with you!

Put on your Crown of Smiles (Day 18) Relax and pop some bubble wrap.

Welcome to the 18th Day of Crown of Smiles – Relax and pop some  bubble wrap

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog and that you are keeping up with the daily tasks! It would be great if you could write any ideas or comments you have.

Remember that each day you have to get into the habit of taking at least 15 minutes to :-

  • Writing down what you are grateful for and why
  • Writing  down all the things you are thankful for and why

Today’s Task –  Pop  some Bubble Wrap

One of the things I do to relax is to pop some bubble wrap. I usually have some in my bag with my smiley cup so that if I feel a bit stressed, I can take it out and get popping.  I remember once in the train whilst it was being delayed, I offered the lady sitting next to me some bubble wrap and both of us got chatting as we  were having fun popping, much to the amusement of some of the other passengers.

According to the first ever “pop” poll stress survey, by Sealed Air Corporation one minute of popping the bubbles in bubble wrap provides stress relief equivalent to 33 minutes of massage.

Research also show that people who pop Bubble Wrap are 7% less likely to be stressed out by missing a flight, 4% less likely to be bothered by a hotel losing their reservation, and 6% less likely to worry about their health.

One of the benefit of popping Bubble Wrap is that it’s instant gratification – you feel better just by doing it

Over to you now.

You can go and get your bubble wrap and get popping!

You can also purchase  one of my small smiley bubble wrap gift set which comes in different colours and also has some sweets and coloured paper for you to write some daily affirmations. Put on your Crown of Smiles (Day 17) Keep smiling and don’t give up on your goals!

Welcome to the 17th Day of Crown of Smiles – Keep smiling and don’t give up on your goals

keepsmiling

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog and you are keeping up with the daily tasks! It would be great if you could write any ideas or comments you have.

Remember that each day you have to get into the habit of taking at least 15 minutes to :-

  • Put on your Crown of Smiles
  • Spending  5 minutes for your Smilence Moments each day – which includes writing down all the things that made you smile the day before
  • Put all your smilence moments in your box of Smilence  and put it in a prominent place or take it around you as a way to boost your Smilence level
  • Writing down what you are grateful for and why
  • Writing  down all the things you are thankful for and why

Today’s Task –  Keep smiling and don’t give up on your goals

If like me, you have ambitions and plans to be successful, you will notice that sometimes things can be so tough that you feel like giving up. You want to sleep at night, but you can’t because you have so much to do, but not enough time and energy left to do them.

You want to go way on a break for a few days to clear your head but you can’t as you don’t have enough money. Each year, as you add another year to your life, you start getting scared, your confidence in your abilities to turn things round start going down and you start to believe you are getting too old to achieve your goals

Despite all these challenges and doubts you may have just remember this “ If you don’t keep going, you’ll never know how far you could have gone and you’ll miss out on being the person you’d become through the effort itself. If you do keep going, well, it’s like this quote: “Shoot for the moon, for even if you miss you’ll land among the stars”.

How to turn things round

Sort it out yourself

Go back to your original business plan and review your targets and goals making sure they are realistic and whether you need to change things.

reviewyourplans

Spend your time wisely

Monitor how you spend your time so that you can maintain a good work life balance. You have to remember that though there are a lot of things you want to do, you alone cannot do it all. So you need to make sure your prioritise things. Scale back your time commitment to something you can more easily maintain. But whatever you do, don’t give yourself a reason to one day utter the words, “I quit because I was scared.”

spendyourtimewisely

Get someone to help you

If you are struggling to sort things out, try and get help from someone else – I would suggest a mentor or business coach who can guide you and help you see things from a different perspective.

gethelp

Why you should keep going

You have invested and devoted so much time, energy, money and effort into developing your dream so do whatever it takes to keep going and never give up!

  • Everyday continue to write down what you are grateful for and why

thankfulfor

Today’s Task –  What 7 things  are you thankful for and why?

Yesterday we looked at being grateful for our current situation. Today I would like you to write down seven things that you are  hoping to achieve this year, and then for each thing, write down why you are thankful, and write it down as if you have achieved it.

My Example

health

I am so thankful that I am  in good health and started to train to  run 5 miles comfortable twice a week which is making me more energetic, full of life, and happier.

Now it’s over to you!! What 7 things are you thankful  for and why?

You may not have seven things you want to achieve, and that’s ok. Just focus on what’s more important right now. You could also break it down into different areas of your life, example – Social, Friendships, Family, Work, Business, Environment, Health etc.

Till tomorrow – try to keep smiling, keep having a positive attitude and keep expecting good things to happen to you.  May the Smile be with you!

Remember that each day you have to get into the habit of:-

 gratefulstart

Today’s Task –  What 7 things  are you most grateful for?

The old saying tells us to count our blessings, but sometimes that can be difficult to do. Every now and then, it doesn’t hurt for us to take stock of our lives to be grateful and appreciate what we have. Even in the toughest economic or political times, there are numerous reasons to be grateful.

I woke up this morning, and the thought of me having to work for 15 minutes so that my friend could me a ride work, was making me a bit miserable especially when I just but the rubbish outside for collection and was in shock as to how cold and windy it felt!

The temptation was for me to phone work then  go back under the duvet and sleep for a few more hours!

gratefulcoldtowork

In the end I resisted and remembered that I had to write this blog and hence my title today – What are you grateful for?

What I am grateful for? As for me, these are some of the reasons I am grateful for today!

  1. I woke up this morning and in good health
  2. I can hear the sounds of the birds singing good morning
  3. My children are well and sleeping peacefully
  4. I have strength and energy to complete today’s task
  5. I can walk for fifteen minutes and my friend is kind enough to give me a life.
  6. I have a good mechanic who is repairing my car for me
  7. I have the support of my wonderful family especially during the last few challenging months

grateful2

Now it’s over to you!! What 7 things are you grateful for?

Remember it is all about appreciating and valuing what you have or are experiencing now.  Try and let gratitude writing be part of you daily ritual and keep adding to your list.

Till tomorrow – try to keep smiling, keep having a positive attitude and keep expecting good things to happen to you.
