Finding Inner Peace

Finding Inner Peace

Inner peace is where you have a sense of harmony, emotional well-being and fulfilment in your life despite any challenges you may be going through (money, relationships, loss, etc). You can achieve inner peace by practising acceptance of yourself and the world around you, engaging in things like prayer, mindfulness, and meditation.

Accepting Your self

Acceptance of yourself is crucial to the promotion of inner peace because it enables us to be okay with what is currently happening no matter what the circumstances. One way to practice acceptance of your life is to be grateful for what you have instead of focusing on what you do not have

Give up control over things you can’t change

We cannot control what others think, feel, or do so try to focus on what you can change.

Focus on right now through mindfulness

Mindfulness can help increase inner peace. Mindfulness is being aware of the current moment, the here and now, instead of thinking about the future or the past. Thinking of the past may lead to depressed mood or regrets, and thinking about the future can increase anxiety and worry. Being completely present in the current moment can increase your feelings of contentment.

prayer

Most people in times of crisis tend to pray sometime in panic or utter desperation. Prayer for inner peace for me helps to calm my mind, gives me  clarity, and inner peace. At times, when I feel so stressed and not know what to do I just say “ Oh God help me and give me the strength and wisdom to go through this”

Meditation

Meditation is the art of finding peace and happiness within by using simple methods of calming and stabilising our minds. Modern life can be stressful and busy. Most of the time we are carried along by the force of emotions, habits and conditioning and end up feeling tired and stressed by everyday life. Practicing meditation can change this. Meditation can help bring about a natural sense of peace and well-being that can extend to every aspect of our lives. People who meditate regularly tend to sleep better, handle the ups and downs of daily life with more clarity and ease and relate to others with more compassion and warmth.

Welcome to the 20th Day of Crown of Smiles – 7 Questions to help you solve your problem

I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s blog and that you are keeping up with the daily tasks! It would be great if you could write any ideas or comments you have.

Today’s Task – 7 Questions to help you find solution to a problem that’s causing you sleepless nights!

  1. What problem do I want to solve? ( The ISSUE)
  2. What do I want to happen? ( MY GOALS)
  3. How I will feel once this is solved? (FEELINGS/EMOTIONS)
  4. What things can I do to help sort out this problem? (OPTIONS)
  5. What is stopping me from doing these things? (OBSTACLES)
  6. How Can I overcome this obstacle? (SOLUTION)
  7. Which of these solutions is best for me? (JUST DO IT)

Their is a solution to my problem!

We all have problems that we wrestle with at night which cause us sleepless nights and even take our smiles away.  I have learn over the years,  not to focus on things I have no control over, but instead focus on things that I can change or get someone else to help me change.  It is also good to have the mindset  and belief that “Their is a solution to my problem”. You have to not only say it, you have to try and believe it, picture the solution, say it out loud regularly, and take action.

A couple of years ago the way I approached my problems changed when I attended a course by the Life Coaching Academy. So what I have down in the picture below, is to give you an example of a challenge one of my client’s had recently, and some of the areas we covered to help her find the solution to her problem.

Over to you now.

So today, I would like you to spend some time to focus on just one problem you may be going through and use the same model to try and get solution to it.  Remember before your start you have to say ” Their is a solution to my problem” if you don’t like saying the word problem you can replace with “challenge”

Till tomorrow – try to keep smiling, keep having a positive attitude and keep expecting good things to happen to you.  May the Smile be with you!

Today’s Task –  Create your own fun character

Transforming yourself into a fun character can be a way of releasing stress and for you to take your mind from some of the challenges you may be going through.

In 2009, I created my character Confident Queen, as it was for me a way of saying good bye to the depression, anxiety, stress and low self esteem that I have suffered for 5 years, this affected me so much that at one point I could not look at my self in the mirror.

Confident Queen Character – Is all about having strength and energy to let go of the past challenges, and fuelling my self with inner peace, happiness so that I can not only rebuild my life, but also go out to deliver to others the Gift of Confidence and Happiness.

Confident Queen Costume – Each item I wear has a meaning ( The main items)

fulloutfit

Heart Shaped Glasses – Heart shaped as I radiate love wherever I go and the glasses are big enough to see you smile!

Hat – Represents that I am a Queen and like all Queen’s I wear my hat filled with confidence,  My first hat was with a crown, but now I have a fruit hat, because I love fruits and it is a way of reminding especially children to have their five a day.

Apron – I am a mother of two, I love cooking and baking and showing my children how to make thinks

Boots – I wear the boots mainly when I am out and about in  my garden. It is also useful when their are puddles so I can be child like and jump into it – such fun.

Shopping Bag – Well I do love to shop and I also keep my Gift of Confidence Boxes which has special tools to help you maintain your happiness and confidence levels,

Microphone –  I use it as I love  singing  and making up funny songs

Belly Dancing Belt – I just love the noise it makes when  I am walking around

Red Cape – Red is one of my favourite colours. When I put on my cape, it boosts my confidence and makes me feel I have wings like and eagle, and I can soar over my challenges and empower and equip people to do the same.

Red Trousers –  I love red and the trousers makes it easier for me to move around

Over to you now.

So today, I would like you to spend some time to develop your own character, give your character a name, what costume will they wear and why? what special powers will they have? Have fun with this and do send me pictures and let me know how you get on!

Till tomorrow – try to keep smiling, keep having a positive attitude and keep expecting good things to happen to you.  May the Smile be with you!
