Simple ways to motivate yourself to get out of bed in the morning

Sometimes it’s a struggle  to get up in the morning, you feel  sluggish, frustrated and fed up with the same old boring cycle of work hard but still trying to make ends meet. You have unfilled goals and you may be even fed up with the way your life has turned out. You look around and you feel everyone else is moving on whilst you are still in a rot. Yes, it’s ok to feel like that at times, because it’s all part of life. The trick is not to let these thing weigh you down for long, if not you will end up being depressed.

So today I urge you to start of with working on changing your mindset and belief – focus on the fact that things will get better, see your life getting better and keep saying it. To get your motivation back, I suggest like me, you start your day on a positive note, by following this simple things I do, and you can amend them and decide how may minutes you want too devote to this.

Morning routine – don’t just rush out of bed in the morning

 

As soon as you wake up, just stay in bed do a little stretch and spend a minute enjoying the quietness of the morning and thank God you are alive to see another day.

Think of all the people and situations in your life that you are grateful for.

Be thankful for the day ahead and pray for strength to carry on your daily routine

Look at what you have to do today and visualise yourself doing them and having  good and productive day.

Write down some positive affirmations, say them out loud or even sing them out loud eg  Life is good, today is going to be good day.

How to start you day full of enthusiasm and passion

Sometimes, in life, we get tired of doing certain things especiallly when we feel we are being taking for granted or if we feel our efforts are not getting us the results we expect. This is all ok and part of life.

How to regain your get up and go for life:-

It all starts with what we tell ourselves.

This morning I woke up and my thoughts where to call in to work sick and just stay in bed. After a few minutes  in bed, I somehow heard my inner voice saying to me ,  “Staying at home moaning about my life is not an option. I am grateful for where I ‘m at, excited about where I am going. ”

I got up, made myself a hot drink of water and lemon to refresh me.

I then sat down to write this short blog  to share with you.

So, I encourage you to act today and takea small step towards changing something you are not happy with in your life.

7 things to do when you need a quick pick me up to feel good

1.Sit down

2.Breathe in slowly and Breathe out Slowly ( do this a couple of times)

3.Breathe in slowly and then laugh out loud slowly (do this a couple of times)

4. Practise saying these affirmations on a regular basis.

5.Think and focus on something that makes you feel happy or my favourite “wake up I feel happy boom, boom, I feel like dancing around boom boom, and now I am dancing line no one’s watching boom, boom”

6.Smile – Just spend a few seconds smiling, and then I want you to give out a couple of big laughs (hahaha)

 Smile even when someone does not smile back!

Yesterday I went to a very uplifting event in London, and everyone looked happy and smiling, except one lady who just looked miserable. I made eye contact with her a few times, and she just seemed to stare at me as if to say “ oh for goodness sake stop smiling”. This really did bother me.

Think about it – Do you always smile back at people? If you don’t, then think about it. Chances are you’re thinking about something else, or are distracted or don’t even see them. Same with other people. Remember that most people are friendly by nature, but right at that moment when you smile at someone, you never know what’s really going on in their heads, so don’t think or worry about it.

Continue to smile, continue to say hello, and when someone does not respond in kind, go on and share the smile with someone else.

Go out and share a smile

In this world where there are a lot of people suffering, lonely, living on the edge, frustrated and having no purpose, the least we can do is to share a smile – smiling is contagious and when you share it with someone it can change their mood.
