I can still play football –

My latest children’s book is  about a young boy Abu  who believed that he would never be able to play football again with his friends after a car accident that crushed his leg. and part of the leg had to be removed. His biggest journey was learning to get along without his leg- he used crutches to help him walk again and that was alright. But he really wanted to play football with his friends.

Thanks to all those who have purchased my book, proceeds of which are going towards helping the charity Melqosh Mission International, giving hope to those children and adults whose limbs and arms where amputated during the civil war in Sierra Leone West Africa.

I can still play football is my second children’s book in my “I Can” series of books aimed at children aged 7-9 years old.

4 ways to feel good and put on your Crown of smiles

That’s enough  of you  feeling down and sad my friend,  It’s time for you to put down your Crown of Sadness and put on your Crown of smiles . Smiling Is Good for Your Health. Smiling  releases endorphins, which improves your mood, helps you to relax, and lowers your blood pressure.

“Each time you smile, you throw a little feel-good party in your brain. The act of smiling activates neural messaging that benefits your health and happiness. Reaf full article https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/cutting-edge-leadership/201206/there-s-magic-in-your-smile

1. Put on your Crown of Smiles

One way of lifting your mood is to imagine you are putting on  your Crown of Smiles.  Slowly breathe in and out for a few seconds. Now imagine you have a large invisible crown of smiles that you are going to put on your head. As you put on your Crown of Smiles on your head, imagine you have a jar of happy oil which is being poured over your head.

Imagine that the oil is going through your body.

As the oil goes through every part of your body, from the top of your head to the sole of your feet, imagine your body tingling as you experience inner joy which lightens up your face with a beautiful smile.  Now start to move your body doing your happy dance as you say say “WooHoo BoomBoom I feel good”.

2. Try my  One minute smilence

Firstly, slowly breathe in positivity and breathe out negativity -do this 3 times.

Now smile to the right, then smile to the left, smile in front of you and then laugh our loud – do this 3 times

Now recall some happy moments in your life whilst smiling for a minute

3. SmileXercise

This is where you put on your most happiest and feel good song and as you dance around whilst you are smiling.

Read the lyrics of this lovely song

Time to change the story of your life

-When you are fed up of being fed up, one day it will just click. One day you will wake up and just say, “I can’t do this no more, I don’t want to feel like this anymore, it’s time for me to get up and do whatever it takes to change the story of your life..

Your change start by accepting where you are in life, and making a decision to make the changes you need.  Give yourself time to sit down, and start writing down how you want your story to end. If you where being interviewed for a newspaper article about the story of your life what would you want them to write?

Once you are clear about how you want your story to end, you need to write down all the things you need to do and  then plan to take small steps towards achieving them.

When your vison for your life is clear, the results will appear.  Use your imagination on a regular basis and imagine you living the life you so desire. Remember what you constantly focus on in life, you attract.

Lessons from the England vs Columbia game #21DayGoalChallange

Yesterday was such an exciting event watching the football with my two teenage sons,  Before I watched the match, I did my tuning in to the England team, through the power of my thoughts and sent them positive and winning vibes. I also posted messages on my social media  – #KeepTheDreamAlive and I encouraged people to also  send positive vibes to the #WinningEnglandTeam

Watching the match was like being on a roller coaster, one minute our hopes where high, then it was dashed as they went to penalty shoot out. At this moment we where so tense and I just did not want to watch.  When Columbia missed one of the penalties, it was tense and as the final England player took the last shot – I was sweating, nervous and closed my eyes praying and then WooHoo hearing the scream from my boys, I knew we had done it. YES we danced, we laughed, we sang and it felt good.

Tips on achieving  goals from watching the match

*Put together a team of people that is going to help you achieve your goals

*Be accountable and have people who will cheer you on your journey to success

* Have a game plan to achieve your goal

*Imagine the end result

*Stay calm even if it seems like you may not achieve your goal

*Give your self some positive self talk

*Believe you can achieve your goal

*Plan how you will celebrate your achievement

Day-18 (21) Develop a supportive commumnity #21daygoalchallenge

Most of us have a need to be part of a community that shares love, commitment, security and connections. We can all create our own “chosen family”, by consciously choosing whom to become more intimate with and investing our time and energy into these relationships. It’s the people in our lives who make good times better and difficult ones easier.

Take some time out to look at your community which is made of acquaintances, friend and families -see if they are made any of these type of people who are going to help you achieve your goals. Some people may have more than one of the qualities below. The key is to have a community of people who is going to encourage and support you.

Proactive – This person is doing things to get themselves on a path of personal development and is proactive in changing their life for the better.

Appreciative – This person consistently appreciates and values your relationship as well as your gifts, talents and strengths.

Communicative – This person is committed to respectful and non-defensive communication, constructive and honest (always with love), the kind of communication that brings a relationship closer together instead of further part.

Attentive – This person pays attention to what you say, listening without judgement, and caring about what you need to feel safe.

Honest – This person is committed to integrity and telling the truth.

Accountable – this person takes full responsibility for their part in the relationship and is always willing to work to look at and deal with how they need to grow.

How did you get on with th above?

Instead of only surrounding yourself with where you’ve been, why not surround yourself with where you’re headed Make a VISION BOARD of your DREAMS, GOALS & ASPIRATIONS to help you stay FOCUSED.

Day-17 (21) stay focussed on your goals #21daygoalchallenge

Day-15 (21) Practise positve self talk #21daygoalchallenge

When things are not going as planned, positive self-talk will help us to   bring the positive out of the negative to help you do better, go further, or just keep moving forward towards reaching our goals.

The practice of positive self-talk is often the process that allows you to discover the obscured optimism, hope, and joy in any given situation.

Self talk exercise

Write down some of the things you are saying to yourself that is affecting your ability to to achieve your goals, and replace them with something positive

Hope this has helped you to stay positve and keep doing what you need to, so that you too can achive your goals.
