Confident Queen activities for #WorldBookDay

On world book day, I personally feel children should dress up  as character that reflect our diverse community, and we can do that by also making sure the books children read reflect this. Raising my children I remember one of my son’s coming home one day from primary school upset because he had dressed up as a character from one of the books, and a few of the children had laughed at him and said to him that he could not be the character because he was black. I must admit I was quite upset and decided to do something about it through writing my books and researching other authors.

‘Confident Queen’ is a fun loving modern day superhero who helps children to unwrap he Gift of  Confidence which is within them by using the contents of her special ‘Gift of Confidence’ toolkit which contains a creative array of items which can help to boost and maintain a child’s confidence from childhood through adulthood. Research in numerous fields including Education, Health, Psychology and Sociology, highlight the importance of confidence building in our children and young people and Confident Queen is on a mission to do just that.”

Confident Queen appeared on Britain’s Got Talent in April 2012 and was able to wow the audience with her fun outfit and got everyone singing “If you are happy and you know it clap your hands”. Since then she has delivered a lot of happiness and confidence sessions for schools and community centres!

Confident Queen – Confidence Builder

I created my personna Confident Queen as a modern day superhero, who helps children and adults to build their self esteem and confidence.

I was then inspired to include Confident Queen in my  first Children’s Book  “I can blow up a balloon with the aim of using the story to teaching children aged 5-7 how to be confident and not give up when trying to do things.

Some amazing things that happened to me since #BGT #BGMT

Since April 2012 when I fist appeared on BGT, it has been a journey and experience I will forever treasure. It gave me the platform to help people to be more confident, and happier in themselves so that they can be the best version of themselves.

I have since been interviewed by various TV, Radio, and Magazines. I have made new friends and met so many people from diverse background. I have been nominated for various awards and been able to inspire children and adults through the various speaking engagements and confidence building and happiness sessions I deliver. I am very active in my local community of Gravesend where I take part in a lot of the local activities and I find it amazing that a lot of people still remember my audition. I still keep in touch of one of my fellow contestant “ The Saw lady” Caroline and follow some of the others.

What kind of Queen are you asked Denzil?

Confident Queen said to Denzil “Well, I’m not the kind of Queen that rules over a country. I’m the kind of Queen that rules over my own inside. When I feel sad because something hasn’t gone right, I tell myself that I am Queen on the inside – just like you are King on the inside and you can tell yourself everything you need to be confident and keep trying even when things go wrong. You see, I am the Queen of being confident on the inside”.

Celebrate your unique talent day

happinesspreader

Today is a day that we all should celebrate our talent as I feel that we are all gifted to do something.   My unique talent is creating and dressing up in fun outfits and going out to give people a reason to smile. I have been blessed with so much inner joy and I can’t keep it all to myself, I have to share it and give hope to others, as their was a time when I had no reason to smile and it was as if my sunshine had been taken away.

Being on Britain’s Got Talent in 2015 was one of my most memorable and enjoyable moments in my life as I was able to share this my talent with so many people nationally and internationally. https://youtu.be/n_RSU_QFtc4

What is your Unique Talent?

What do you excel at? What gifts, talents or skills are uniquely yours? Take the opportunity to share your unique gifts with friends and colleagues on Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/celebrate-your-unique-talent-day/

Celebrating my achievements 12 years after divorce!

One of the most important times in my life was when I got married in 1997. I had waited so long! It was like a dream come true. It was therefore very disappointing when, five years later, and with two children, it ended in divorce.

A NEW STORY
When I sit back now, I wonder how I managed to get through without breaking down. There have been times when I felt like giving up; when I felt there was no light at the end of the tunnel. You wake up one day and feel all right, yet the next you feel as if the world is going to cave in. You project this image to the outside world that all is well, but when you are in your own house behind closed doors, you feel very miserable.

I could go on now and recall every bad thing that happened to me in detail. But I choose not to, as I believe there is no point in reliving the old story. It is time for me to tell a new story, which is full of inspiration and a hope for a better future.

Innovationsandcreations

Today I feel a different person than I was then. I have been able to accomplish so much. I work full time from home, I have a part time business, I have set up a support group for lone parents and a charity called confident children.

I have been able to share my experiences and help others by being on TV and Radio.

I have a new strength and motivation, and have been able to reach goals in my life that previously I would have thought impossible.

My main goal now in life is to be an inspiration to others. I believe that everyone is unique and special. We all have special gifts and abilities, which if developed will help us to maximise our potential and be the best we can.

Additional Information about the book
Research in numerous fields including Education, Health, Psychology and Sociology, highlight the importance of confidence building in our young people. The book aims to help children be confident. Genny was inspired to write the book based on an incident which happened to her son when he was five. In this book she brings together life experience, backed up by research and the importance of lifelong learning for all.

She combines the story with the Character Confident Queen persona whom she has created. Confident Queen’s mission is helping people to be confident using her special Gift of Confidence toolkit. This toolkit contains a creative array of items to boost and maintain one’s confidence.

Several parents who have previewed the book had this to say

Angela Steele – A Mother and Grand Parent “A great read for the younger ones. So uplifting. It made me smile.”

Sarah Webb – Mother of two and Foster Carer
“We thought the book was really good. Joshua, who’s 6 really enjoyed it, I read it to him first and he’s also read it by himself too since. I think it’s a great story and really is beneficial for children who experience a lack of self-esteem/confidence. I have also read it to my foster girl who’s a little old, however, is probably about the same age as Joshua with regards to learning and she thought it was really nice too!”
Jade Webster – Mother, Councilor, Community Activist “I have just read your book, it’s wonderful.”

Helen Mckee – Mother, Child Minder “ A great resources to keep the children I look after engaged”
