Simple action plan to be fitter and healthier

If you are serious to being fitter, healthier and happier you have to start now by making a plan of how you are going to do this. I find it first to take some time to answer these three questions.

  1. Why do you want to be fitter and healthier?.
  2. What will happen if you are not fitter and healthier?
  3. , What can you see yourself doing now that you are fitter and healthier?

I hope you find answering those questions very useful. Now time to create a simple plan of action

Step 1 – Write down one main goal relating to being fitter and healthier

For example  main goal – to loose 281bs  starting 1st January  and finishing on 30th April   so that I can   fit comfortable into a size 14 dress which I have already bought to wear to a function in May.

 Step 2  – Create a vison board

Create a vison board of the new you looking fitter and heathier. Your vision board can include images, words, and positive affirmations. Once you have created your Vision board, make sure you put it somewhere you can see it everyday and spend a few minutes imaging you have achieved your goal every single day.

Step 3 –  Create an action plan based on your vison board – here is an example

Main goal –  loose 281bs by 31st May

Actions  I am going to take loose 281bs

Smalls steps – I am going to lose 7 lbs each month by:

  • Exercising at home 3 times a week using videos
  • Go out for a walk 30 minutes twice a week
  • Cooking and eat healthier meals each day
  • Drinking 1 litter of water in the morning, afternoon, and evening
  • Visualising myself being slimer, fitter and healthier each day
  • Affirming that I am enjoying my daily exercise and healthy eating which is making me energised, fitter and healthier.
  • Celebrating with a happy dance and saying woohoo as I achieve my goals
  • Sign up to the ‘Better2022 facebook accountability group so that I will be encouraged and supported by like minded people as well as share my journey on a monthly. https://www.facebook.com/groups/4846004458792790

Some Affirmations you could say each day:

– I enjoy walking  for 45 minutes every day as I discover new places and meet interesting people

– I enjoy eating healthy foods and do have the occasional treats which makes me feel good as I see the results

– I enjoy drinking  2 litres of water each day as it refreshes me and fills me with so much energy

Ditch your new year’s resolution

Sometimes we start the year with a new year’s resolution filled with stuff which at the time of writing seems exciting and attainable, but half way through January we realise nothing has really changed. Ditch those New Year’s Resolution and instead spend some time re-evaluating your life as a whole, and start finding real and meaningful reasons to change, not just because it’s a New Year and that magically inspires you with will and determination you didn’t have the year before.

We have to set our intention to  start living our lives the best we can,   being satisfied with who we are, and if we really aren’t genuinely satisfied with life as it is, we need to have a reason to change, and not because a new calendar has flipped over! So ditch the resolution, set realistic goals and start taking action each day that will help you achieve those goals.

Setting an Action Plan to lose weight and be healthier

Now that you have ditched the new year’s resolution,  its time to create an action plan  as it will force you to think about what you need to do to  achieve your goals and then to take  action.

Step 1 – Write down one goal you want to achieve

For example  main goal – to loose 281bs  starting 1st February  and finishing on 30th April 2021  so that I can be healthier and fitter.

Main goal –  lose 281bs by 30th April 2021

Actions  I am going to take loose 281bs

Smalls steps – I am going to lose 7 lbs each month by:

  • Exercising at home 3 times a week using videos
  • Go out for a walk 30 minutes twice a week

  • Affirming that I am enjoying my daily exercise and healthy eating which is making me energised, fitter and healthier.
  • Celebrating with a happy dance and saying woohoo as I achieve my goals
  • Sign up with Gingerbread FitnFity healthy challenge starting in February

Some Affirmations you could say each day:

– I enjoy walking  for 45 minutes every day as I discover new places and meet interesting people

– I enjoy eating healthy foods and do have the occasional treats which makes me feel good as I see the results

– I enjoy drinking  2 litres of water each day as it refreshes me and fills me with so much energy

Don’t sweat the small stuff

We can get so caught up in our minor daily struggles that it’s easy to forget to take a step back and enjoy the things we’re lucky to have. Gratitude is a game-changer. It reframes everything; so put those gratitude glasses on – and keep them on!

Holding on to pain and frustration does more damage to you than to the other person. So learn to let things go of things you have no control over and  make more room for joy and happiness

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff…is a fantastic book that tells you how to stop letting the little things in life drive you into frustration and worry. In thoughtful and insightful language the author Richard Carlson reveals ways to calm down, especially now with COVID19 and all it’s uncertainties.  In the midst of our frustrations, he gives us suggestions for ways we can make daily changes to ultimately lead a calmer, less stressed and more relaxed life. Here is the link for you to get a copy of the book https://amzn.to/33NvYXS

Tips on letting go of  the small stuff
*Breathe slowly. You can change your state with just a few, slow deep breaths. …
*Acknowledge your emotion. Give it a name: Frustration and deal with it . …
*Remind yourself of the smallness of the situation. The little things are exactly that. …
*Focus on solutions. What needs to happen now? …
*Find the good in the situation.

How to never give up #KeepHopeAlive #NeverGiveUpDay

Today is never give up day. check out more about this day here https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/never-give-up-day/

As you focus on achieving your goals, their will be times when you feel frustrated and fed up because you can’t see the results of your hard work; but I want to encourage you to stay focussed and be positive.

Motivate yourself –Look for ways to motivate yourself that works for you. I get a lot of motivation from reading personal stories about individuals who never gave up despite the challenges and setbacks they face. I also set my daily intentions of things I will do that will move me close to my goals.

Take a step every day towards your goal. Show up every day and even when the mountain seems too steep to climb, just take a small and simple step. When you string a lot of small steps together, you cover a lot of ground. A year from now you’ll look back in amazement at how far you’ve come.

“The mark of a successful person is his or her ability to see problems as opportunities instead of obstacles. And the most important lessons take place not when you celebrate the good times but persevere during the bad ones. Indeed, that’s why the bad times make the good times so good!”UBB

Plan to have a good day #StayHomeSaveLives

With all the current uncertainties in life, it is very easy to just drift through life on a day to day basis without a sense of purpose. I have found the best thing to do is to plan your day and make the most of today for no one knows what tomorrow holds. Here are some of my tips using the word SMILE

Structure  your day which will help to give you a sense of purpose

Motivate yourself to get going even though at times you have to try harder. The other day I woke up and I was feeling so low as I had listened to the news and was just heart broken my all the deaths and just sadness around the world. After crying for a while, I had to talk myself to getting up from my bed by recalling all the things I was grateful for in life. I then put on some uplifting music which then put me in a positive mood.

Inspire and encourage someone who may be going through some challenging times, especially if you have gone through similar situation. Let your story inspire, strengthen and give them hope.

Look for the good and positive things people are doing despite some of the issues they may be facing. Even though we are constantly bombarded with bad news, their are so many good things going on which we never hear of in the media. So be positive and search for good news.

Engage and connect with others so you are not isolated and can share experiences, tips with others.

I have started doing online exercise, I join in various online events, comment on people’s post. I also have a list of people to call each day to check they are ok.

Life will get better #LiveInHope #RainbowOfHope

Good morning. #StayingPositive listening to Jimmy Cliff – I Can See Clearly Now.  Listening to uplifting music is good for the soul and lifts your mood.

“I Can See Clearly Now

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

Oh, yes I can make it now the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day

(Ooh…) Look all around, there’s nothing but blue skies
Look straight ahead, there’s nothing but blue skies

I can see clearly now the rain is gone
I can see all obstacles in my way
Here is that rainbow I’ve been praying for
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It’s gonna be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
It’s going to be a bright (bright)
Bright (bright) sunshiny day
Yeah, hey, it’s gonna be a bright (bright) bright (bright)
Sunshiny day

Lean on me when you are not strong #StrongerTogether

At a time like this, it’s great that we can support each other as together we are stronger – Though I woke up today feeling downhearted  with some of the bad news we hear, I was so Inspired this morning by the song
Lean on me – as it reminded me that people care.

Lean On Me- Bill Withers

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
We all have sorrow
But if we are wise
We know that there’s always tomorrow
Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on
Please swallow your pride
If I have things you need to borrow
For no one can fill those of your needs
That you won’t let show
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on
I just might have a problem that you’ll understand
We all need somebody to lean on
Lean on me, when you’re not strong
And I’ll be your friend
I’ll help you carry on
For it won’t be long
‘Til I’m gonna need
Somebody to lean on
You just call on me brother, when you need a hand
We all need somebody to lean on

Woohoo we made it to friday #BoomBoomSong
