Maintain an attitude of gratitude to relieve stress

Are you feeling a bit stressed? One of the things I have learnt to do is to maintain an attitude of gratitude and to record on a regularly basis the things that I am grateful for in life.

Taking the time to feel gratitude can help improve our emotional well-being by helping us cope with stress. Early research suggests that a daily practice of gratitude could affect the body, too. For example, one study found that gratitude was linked to fewer signs of heart disease.

The other day I was so stressed as I was stuck in a traffic jam and had very important meeting to attend to. After a few minutes of being annoyed and realising the traffic was not going to be moving for a while because of an accident; I decided to phone the client to explain I was going to be late, she was so understanding and suggested we schedule.

I felt such a relief and thanked her. Sitting in my car, I started to just recall people and experiences in my life that I was grateful for. This made me take off my mind from the stress, and then I put on my music and started to sing and dance. Looking besides me I could see the next driver smiling at me and shaking his head LOL.
